David G. Zahka, Founder and Managing Director

David G. ZahkaDavid has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting.  Prior to founding Financial Dynamics Group, he was the CFO of GuardTrax LLC (5 years), a privately held company providing solutions in mobile resource management; CFO of Talk America, Inc (5 years), a NASDAQ listed telecommunications company; and an investment banker with PaineWebber/UBS (16 years) specializing in corporate finance and capital markets.

While at GuardTrax, David developed and built scalable financial processes and controls to provide timely management reporting and allow the company to grow its revenues without adding to overhead costs.  He combined three general ledgers (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks) onto a single platform;  consolidated billing platforms and generated billing assurance reports; completed the company’s first audit;  established monthly forecasting and budgeting processes; evaluated and closed a three company merger; implemented Salesforce.com as a reporting and management tool; and integrated Salesforce.com with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and production systems.

While at Talk America, David was a key member of the executive team with responsibility for all aspects of the financial operations of this $500 million public company. He structured and executed the exchange offer of the Company’s public convertible debt; completed the restructuring on a timely basis that avoided a liquidity crisis and allowed management the time to execute an operating turnaround and return the company’s operations to profitability;  acquired and fully integrated the financial operations of two privately held companies;  and prepared analysis for consideration by the Board of Directors that resulted in the undertaking of a sale process for the company, including extensive due diligence and competing bidders that culminated in the sale of Talk America to Cavalier Telephone.

David built the foundation for his career in corporate finance and accounting while at PaineWebber Incorporated and UBS Warburg where he spent 16 years in utility finance; leveraged acquisitions; debt capital markets; and mergers and acquisitions.

David received his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and his BA in Economics from Colgate University.
